  New Year's Eve in Natal

  Ponta Negra Beach and Newton Navarro Bridge, Natal

  On New Year's Eve, the Natal city government organizes fireworks at two spots — from a barge off Ponta Negra Beach and on the Newton Navarro Bridge, between Forte and Redinha — plus free concerts.

  São Miguel do Gostoso, north coast of Rio Grande do Norte

  About 100 km from Natal, São Miguel do Gostoso has some of the strongest, steadiest wind on the Rio Grande do Norte coast — a draw for kitesurfing and windsurfing.

  Based on the wind data already used on this site (monthly averages from 2016 to 2025), average wind speed rises starting in July and peaks between August and October, at around 21–22 km/h.
